In this episode, I’m chatting with Marianne Chapman, who joined my group facilitation of The Artist’s Way book after her friend encouraged her to give it a try. Mary initially had doubts and skepticism about the program, but decided to join because she was at a point in her life where she needed a change.
Mary shares how, as the weeks progressed, she experienced personal growth, discovered more about herself, and rekindled her passion for painting. You’re going to love her hack for how she overcame perfectionism and fear of failure, and allowed herself to start painting again.
Mary shares her journey of rediscovering her creativity and embracing her identity as an artist. She reflects on the importance of self-care and taking time for oneself, even as a busy mother. She talks about the myth of “not having enough time”, and her decision to study psychology and art therapy, combining her love for art and her desire to help others.
From feeling skeptical at how something so simple can be so transformative, to now suggesting that The Artist’s Way should be taught in schools, Mary’s story is honest, fun and inspiring to hear.
